Since the inception of Indian Premier League on the lines of Australian Premier League in 2008, IPL is the most successful as well as controversial gaming event in India. IPL is literally money making media for the established players, while opportunity generating platform for the upcoming stars.
Though the game emerged to curtail the expansion of Indian Cricket league (ICL), it gave opportunity to those players recently. The 2015s edition of IPL is much more interesting with highest rates to Yuvraj Singh and Dinesh Karthik, who were failed to get berth in World Cup squad from India.
Yuvraj Singh who was rated at 14 crore in 2014 by Royal Challengers Bangalore is now sold at 16 crore by Delhi Dare Devils. Dinesh Karthik (bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore) slipped to Rs 10.5 crore ($1.75 million) from Rs 12.5 crore in 2014. In 2011 at Rs 11.04 crore Gautam Gambir was highest paid player by Kolkata Knight player.
The interesting thing of this IPL Auction is S Naushad Khan (17), the youngest player was taken by RCB at 50lakh.
IPL is certainly batting or hitting game, but if bowler dominates the show the scene will be different. The one more interesting thing can seen in IPL is, the rival players from different nations may play for same team like Symonds and Harbhajan.
We have to wait and see how IPL 8 will sustain all the damages made by franchisers and players so far. Media is watching all the things to reveal at peak time.
