Dark circles around the eyes can be stressful for those who have them. There are several reasons for dark circle – getting inadequate sleep, nutritional deficiency, aging, smoking and drinking, sun exposure and also genetics.
Prevention is the best option when it comes to dark circles. Eat a nutritional and balanced diet which includes fresh fruits, vegetables, milk and cheese. Try to get at least 7 hours of sleep and 20 minutes of relaxation everyday by listening to your favourite music or doing yoga.
The skin around the eyes is delicate so avoid stretching it during cleansing or moisturisation. Also massage the area gently with a nourishing overnight cream without stretching it. Wipe out the area after 20 minutes of applying the cream, before going to sleep.
Besides these preventive measures against dark circles there are few beauty tips that you can follow at home to lighten the skin around the eyes.
Cucumber juice
Cucumber juice is great to remove dark circles. It helps to lighten the dark circles if applied regularly and left for 15 minutes. Rinse with water.
In case of eye puffiness along with dark circles, then a mix of cucumber juice with potato juice in equal quantities does the trick.
Tea bags
Cooled tea bags help to reduce eye puffiness. It revitalise the delicate skin under your eyes.
Almond oil
Applying almond oil is wonderful to remove dark circles. Make a paste of almonds with milk and apply on the dark circles before sleeping. Wash the paste the next morning with water. This home remedy helps to lighten up the skin around the eyes.
