The National Board of Medical Examinations (NBEMS) will announce the date of the National Entrance Eligibility Test, Post Graduate Examination (NEET PG) 2024 next week, its chairman Abhijat Sheth told ANI. The announcement came after the NBE canceled the exam 12 hours before its scheduled date on June 23 following reports of the paper leak incident at NEET UG. The President also added that the SOPs and protocols will be reviewed as soon as possible. The NEET PG exam date has changed several times this year. The exam was initially scheduled to take place on March 3 but was eventually postponed to July 7. However, due to the Rath Yatra event, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has postponed the exam date to June 23 and the same has also been cancelled. . The 3 hour and 30 minute test consists of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQs) with four possible answers for each question. This exam is divided into several time-limited sections according to the structure of the updated article. NBEMS introduces a compulsory timed section on computer based platforms in all MCQ based exams like NEET-PG, NEET-MDS, NEET-SS, FMGE, DNB-PDCET, GPAT, DPEE, FDST, FET etc. A measure to strengthen security and the sanctity of the investigation in view of the threats emerging during the investigation has already been outlined.
According to NBEMS, there are several timed sections in the exam question paper. If the NEET-PG 2024 question paper has five timed sections (A, B, C, D and E), there are a total of 40 questions and the time allotted for each section is 42 minutes. Candidates will not be able to proceed to the next section until they have completed the allotted time for the previous section. After the end of the section and the prescribed deadline, applicants will no longer be able to review or edit their questions. After the time allotted for the previous section has expired, the next section of questions begins automatically. NBEMS states that applicants have the opportunity to mark a question for review whether they attempt it or not. Before the time allotted for a section has expired, applicants may review the questions listed in that section. The marking scheme is used to grade questions marked for review. Students should note that the actual number of timed sections in the exam may vary depending on the total number of questions on the questionnaire. NBEMS also mentioned that this method will also be used in GPAT 2024, NEET PG 2024 and future computer based exams under NBEMS.
