A 28-year-old woman has filed a complaint to police in Surat on Wednesday alleging that she suffered injury from a tantrik to whom her NRI in-laws had taken to. The women named Falguni Patel was taken to the tantrik as she had suffered miscarriage a number of times since her marriage.

The victim alleged that the tantrik stuffed her mouth with cloth and caused injury by branding her back with hot iron rod. Based on the complaint by the victim, the the in-laws have been arrested by police.

In the police complaint, Falguni stated that she lives in Asta village near Kamrej with her husband Pinakin and her her in-laws Daksha and Jayanti Patel reside in the US. The victim said that after her marriage she suffered repeated miscarriage and her in-laws blame her for the high cost of medication incurred. So, Falguni was taken to the tantrik to ensure her successful pregnancy by
Jayanti's brother Rajendra and wife Sushila (residing in India). That is when the tantrik injured Falguni.

Apparently, Falguni's in-laws held her responsible for miscarriage and demanded a dowry of Rs 5 lakh. The in-laws have been arrested by the police and investigations in the case has started.
