The right talent can be acquired if there is no cap on issuing green cards. At present there are concerns in allowing the permanent residency to process, sources said
Pending bill needs to be passed by the US Senate that is concerned with the removal of country cap on the issuance of green cards, urges Think Tank(The Indian Diaspora).
They believe, if this action is not taken, the US will lose out on talent and this can have an adverse effect on the American Universities as well.
FIID says, allowing immigrants to work in the US can bring in good talent into the American Economy and the annual country’s cap regulation has concerns with regards to processing permanent residency.
There is a gap in the immigration laws now, although they were proposed much before changes in technology for the development of American economy and this gap is not able to reach the benchmark of the skills and expert knowledge that is required in the US at present.
Highlights Of The Request
1.Withdrawal of country cap on work-visa for skilled immigrants.
2.Request to treat skill-based and family based immigration separately.
3.Not to include primary visa holder’s dependents while counting the aggregate country cap.
4.Revision in the outdated immigration laws for the betterment and growth of industries in the US.
5.An example was quoted by the FIID about the “reverse Brain Drain” by Kunal Bahl who was rejected a visa in the US and has now founded Snapdeal in India.
FIID observed that an India-American collaboration has contributed to better growth and improvement in skills and to progress the right direction the cap should be removed.
