K Kavitha, a Telangana politician, was released from jail on Tuesday evening after the Supreme Court granted her conditional bail. She had been in jail since March over alleged corruption and money laundering charges related to the Delhi liquor policy case. Upon her release, her supporters celebrated with drums and crackers. Kavitha's brother and BRS working president KT Rama Rao was present. Kavitha stated that she is a fighter who will legally and politically battle the accusations against her, and that these events have only made the BRS and KCR's team stronger. She expressed that she was jailed due to politics and has done nothing wrong, and that she is Telangana's and KCR's daughter who is stubborn and good. Kavitha declared that she will return the favor to those who put her and her family through this ordeal, and that her time will come.

The Supreme Court released Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Kavitha on bail, stating that the investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was complete. The court criticized the agencies for their perceived lack of fairness, questioning their selection of witnesses and accused individuals. The court said the prosecution must be fair and not arbitrarily choose who to target or leave out as an accused. Kavitha's lawyer, Mukul Rohatgi, argued that the investigation against her was complete and the necessary legal documents had already been filed. The Supreme Court's decision on August 9 allowed co-accused and senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia to be released on bail. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) apprehended Ms Kavitha at her residence in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, on March 15, and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained her from Tihar jail on April 11.
