Union Education Minister, Smriti Irani was left embarrassed after spelling mistakes were found in the official letter sent by the Human Resource Ministry on her behalf.

The letter was sent to school teachers of various schools praising the performance of their students. Words "minister" and "sansadhan (resources)" were incorrectly spelt in the letter.

Explanation was sought by Smriti Irani from the officials of her ministry for the spelling mistakes in the letter.

A teacher at Delhi Public School, Bhilai, Richa Kumar pinpointed the error in a Facebook post and wrote, "Thank you for congratulating me on the excellence I exemplify. However, having been a teacher for the last twenty years, your official letter head is an affront to my sensibilities as a Language teacher. The attached photographs are self explanatory. Please ensure that at least the people who work for you, in your ministry, are well educated."

As a reply to a tweet, Smriti said that she would not have misspelled her name wrong in Hindi and had asked for an explanation from the concerned organization.
