Gender equality is getting established as required by the feminists. Now-a-days women are in the news for drunken driving. There is no day which has passed out without witnessing a woman in the news for the wrong reasons. The victims are always poor men.

A 25-year-old woman was arrested for injuring a tea vendor while driving drunk on Carter Road in Bandra, Mumbai. Nidhi Parekh, a chief fashion co-ordinator, was coming back from a friend’s birthday party when the accident took place.

Parekh, was driving her Chevrolet car on Carter Road and crashed into Vijay Shahani, who sells tea on a bicycle. Unable to control her vehicle, she hit a parked autorickshaw and a Santro car before coming to a halt. Her medical reports proved she is under the influence of alcohol, said the police.

It is only less than a month after the Janhavi Gadkar a lawyer ramped her car into a taxi and killed and injured a family. Unfortunately, whenever women are involved in accidents, law is soft and biased and they get out of the scene very easily and quickly. Now that the law has to be amended to treat women at par with men for drunken driving. Let there be gender equality atleast in this crime.
