Just a few days after the Aam Aadmi Party, known as AAP, took Raghav Chadha out of his position as the party's deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, the Punjab government decided on Wednesday to take away the Z+ level security that had been given to the Member of Parliament. Sources have shared this information. Officers and staff from Punjab Police who were assigned to protect the 37-year-old Chadha have been instructed to return to headquarters right away, according to the same sources. This action comes at a time when AAP's relationship with its Punjab MP is growing increasingly strained. Shortly after AAP made its decision, the Ministry of Home Affairs intervened, offering the AAP MP a security detail. Sources say that the Home Ministry will provide him with 'Z' level security in both Delhi and Punjab, while he will have 'Y' level security in other parts of the country. The AAP accused Chadha of not speaking out against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government in Parliament, claiming he was more focused on "soft PR," leading to his removal from the deputy leader spot on April 2.

A defiant Chadha called the party's claims "false" and stated that he entered Parliament to discuss the concerns of the people, not to cause trouble. Raghav Chadha is the second Rajya Sabha MP from AAP, following Swati Maliwal, to clash with the party's leadership. Once seen as a close ally of Arvind Kejriwal and among the youngest MPs in India, Chadha played an important role in party operations, especially in Punjab and during AAP's time governing in Delhi. Over recent months, Raghav Chadha has been outspoken about issues affecting the public and their struggles. Previously, in a video message, Raghav Chadha mentioned that he has "been silenced, not defeated".
