Where do you expect to see a squirrel. In trees of course. But a mopane squirrel lives in a girl's ponytail. The orphaned squirrel was rescued when it was only 10 days old and now it's so friendly with its human friend that he prefers resting on her ponytail than in trees.

The little animal named Hammy was found orphaned at the Bally Vaughan Wildlife Sanctuary in Zimbabwe.

 

The orphaned squirrel managed to climb into Abby Putterill’s hair about two months ago and since then it considers her ponytail as its home.

 

Debbie Putterill, the girl's mother revealed that one day, when Hammy was playing with Abby, it somehow crawled into her hair. Since then, Hammy feels at home in her pony, added Debbie.

Debbie Putterill and her husband own the sanctuary near Harare, so the 16-year-old girl is comfortable with animals around her. She also didn't mind when Hammy decided to move in her hair.

Abby, who is quite fond of Hammy, now wears a ponytail constantly to enable the little squirrel to rest and watch the world from there.
