Michael Fassbender is all set to play the role of Macbeth in an adapted version of the tragedy authored by William Shakespeare. Fassbender had recently stared in '12 Years a Slave'.
Australian filmmaker Justin Kurzel will helm the project.
The Shakespeare tragedy Macbeth is about the rise and fall of a Scottish general. With the help of his ambitious wife, Macbeth seizes the throne of his kingdom, but the incident sparks a civil war.
The rest of the cast is yet to be announced, including the role of Lady Macbeth.
Produced by See-Saw Films, Todd Louiso and Jacob Koskoff have scripted the filmi version of Macbeth.
