'12 Years A Slave', 'American Hustle' and 'Gravity' gets Australian honors},{'12 Years A Slave', 'American Hustle' and 'Gravity' gets Australian honors

Gravity, the space odyssey of Alfonso Cuaron, was awarded as best film and best direction at the AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts) International Awards. The awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles on Friday. Others in the race for the top honors were American Hustle, 12 Years A Slave, Rush and Captain Phillips.

12 Years A Slave, Gravity and American Hustle received two awards each. All three of them were nominated in each of the seven categories. Best screenplay went to Eric Warren Singer and David O. Russell for American Hustle and best supporting actress was won by Jennifer Lawrence for her character Rosalyn.

Award for best actor and best supporting actor was taken by Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Fassbender respectively for their role in 12 Years A Slave. Cate Blanchett got the best actress award for Woody.
