The first full trailer of Johnny Depp's sci-fi flick "Transcendence" is out. And from the first look of it, the films looks unlike anything we have witnessed ever.
Also starring Morgan Freeman, Rebecca Hall, Kate Mara, Cillian Murphy, Cole Hauser and Paul Bettany, the film is all about an artificial intelligence scientist, Depp, his ground-breaking invention that transcends all realms of science and logic and his girlfriend's mind-defying attempt to retrieve his invention by uploading his brain into a computer.
In the initial moments of the ‘Transcendence’ trailer, Johnny Depp’s character, Dr Will Caster, says, ‘The path to building super intelligence requires us to unlock the most fundamental secrets of the universe. Imagine a machine with the full range of human emotion.’
In the film, Caster develops a machine whose analytical power is believed to transcend the collective intelligence of every human being born in the history of the world. However, a bunch of anti-tech peeps attempt to assassinate him with a radiation laced bullet.
That is when Evelyn (Rebecca Hall), Caster’s ladylove, comes up with a mindboggling solution; ‘Will's body is dying but his mind is a pattern of electrical signals, we can upload his consciousness. We can save him’, she says.
Basically, while Johnny Depp’s Will Caster’s body is dead, his brain is very much alive and kicking after being uploaded into a computer!
The film hit theaters on April 18, 2014.
