Tinsel town's lovebirds, the dapper George Clooney and his breathtakingly beautiful fiance Amal Alamuddin, have the license to marry now. That's right!

The soon-to-wed couple have acquired a marriage license in London, says reports. However, Hollywood's most-talked about couple are yet to make the royal proclamations.

The brief was tipped to media by an eagle-eyed reader who took a picture taken of a notice of their intent to wed outside Chelsea Old Town Hall. The public posting is a legal requirement when the proposed marriage involves citizens of the European Union, such as Alamuddin.

Apparently, George and Amal have been busy scouring for locations near his home in Lake Como. So one thing is certain, the wedding is happening in Italy.

Now the big question is, is the  nuptial around the corner? Well, it could be.

As per the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, if one half of the couple (or both) are non-EU citizens then you must both give former "notice of your intention" to a superintendent registrar at a designated register office. The notice is then displayed at the register office where they've given their notice "for a period of 15 clear days and only then can the authorities which allow your marriage to go ahead, be issued."

However,  the license is good for 12 months. And unless you are changing the wedding venue, you don't have to reapply.

So the couple stills seems to have plenty of time before they walk the aisle.

Buzz is that the couple have zeroed down on September 20 wedding in Venice. However, confirmations are awaited.
