The countdown for Holi has begun! With the festival of colors just around the corner, it's time to roll up your sleeves and get making some delectable Indian sweets at home. After all, what better way to treat your family and guests than some lip-smacking thandai and melt-in-the-mouth, soul-sweetening Indian mithais. We begin our sweet escapade with something simple and sweet as Atta Laddoo. For the recipe, read on.
Ingredients
1 kg atta (wheat)
1 kg powdered sugar
1 kg ghee
40 gmdried ginger powder
3 Tbsp ajwain seeds, roasted
50 gm raisins
50 gm sultanas
100 gm almonds (roasted and powdered)
100 gm melon seeds
50 gm makhana (lotus seeds) roasted and lightly fried
50 gm gond (edible gum crystals) lightly fried, and ground coarsely
Instructions
In a pan, dry roast atta until mildly brown. Add ghee and saute till fat separates.
Let the mixture cool.
Add rest of the ingredients and mix well.
Round into small laddoos.
