Bajaj Auto is preparing to enhance its electric scooter lineup with an introduction of a new model under the Chetak series. Tentatively named the Chetak 3001, this new scooter is anticipated to be unveiled later in the week, as the company seeks to solidify its position in the increasingly competitive electric scooter market. While the official specifications are still pending confirmation, initial insights indicate that the Chetak 3001 may either join the existing lineup or take the place of the current Chetak 2903. The new scooter is likely to be equipped with a 3.1 kW electric motor, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 62 km/h. True to its name, the Chetak 3001 is expected to feature a 3 kWh battery pack, striking a balance between range and performance for daily use.

Design-wise, the upcoming model is predicted to retain the aesthetic characteristics of the existing Chetak series, with no significant changes anticipated. In terms of size, the scooter is expected to have dimensions of 1,914 mm in length, 725 mm in width, and 1,143 mm in height. It should also provide a ground clearance of 168 mm and a wheelbase measuring 1,355 mm. The weight without any load is projected to remain at 123 kg, and the scooter will likely come fitted with 90/90-12 tyres on both wheels, maintaining similarity with the current models.

Bajaj is anticipated to offer the Chetak 3001 at a competitive price, potentially around Rs. 1 lakh or possibly lower, according to estimates. With the official launch set for this week, more information, including range, features, and availability, is expected to be released shortly. Upon its launch, the Bajaj Chetak 3001 will face competition from models such as the TVS iQube equipped with a 2.2 kWh battery and the Ola S1 Z.
