Customers are reportedly being quoted different fares for the same taxi service based on the type of mobile device they use, whether an iPhone or an Android. The government has directed the companies to respond to these notices. The minister has warned that there will be "zero tolerance for consumer exploitation" and has asked the consumer protection authority to investigate the matter thoroughly. The practice of differential pricing, if it exists, is considered a clear violation of consumers' rights.
