Salman Khan-starrer 'Jai Ho' has been labelled with U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification, along with a number of cuts. This is the first time that a film of superstar Salman Khan has not been passed under 'U' category, according to reports.
'Jai Ho' is a political thriller, where a common man is able to successfully thwart an attempt to assassinate a chief ministe, said a source. Getting a U/A certificate is rather unusual for a film which has Salman as a star, added the source. He further said that usually his(Salman) films get a 'U' certificate with no cuts or minimum cuts.
Censor board reportedly asked the makers of the film to tone down or beep out some of Salman's verbal onslaught against corrupt politicians in the film. The source said that 'Jai Ho' is Salman's first movie with a political statement. Quite a few statements are against corruption in the current political scenario, the source added.
Starring Salman Khan and Daisy Shah, 'Jai Ho' is set to release on January 24.
