The news created a sensation across the nation and the Indian government directed a multi-agency probe in the incident. The Central Board of Direct Taxes, Reserve Bank of India, Enforcement Directorate and Financial Intelligence Unit are asked to investigate the matter of the Pandora Papers. As per the speculation, 300 Indian names have been surfaced about the offshore holdings.

The names of Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, steel baron LN Mittal's younger brother Pramod Mittal are named in the list. Pramod Mittal faced bankruptcy in UK but his total assets are under 150,000 UK Pounds. But he owned huge assets in various countries. Two Supreme Court judges who will head the Special Investigation Team (SIT) about black money said that the action will be taken as per the investigation.
