Notwithstanding their country speaking with exaggeration regarding the world's greatest oil wealth, several Saudis complain their salaries are not sufficient to make ends meet, at the same time are taking to Twitter to claim as a right for more money. Furthermore to say, a hashtag launched in early summer on the micro-blogging website which emphasized on beyond 17.5 million tweets while reflecting the frustration of several Saudis over their purchasing power expressed that the salary is not enough.

The campaigners called on King Abdullah to order by judicial decision, an increment in the salaries of all civil servants of the world's top oil exporter. According to a study prepared by insurance companies the basic monthly salary of a public employee ranges from between 3,945 riyals and 24,750 riyals, in addition to various allowances.
