Six officers have been suspended by the Superintendent of Police in Bangalore South (Ramnagar) regarding the situation where gelatine sticks were discovered on the outskirts of Bengaluru during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit on May 10. These officers will remain suspended until the investigation is finished. The Superintendent of Police (SP) for Bengaluru South (Ramnagar) reported that the incident was revealed on the morning of the Prime Minister's visit when security screenings were taking place before his arrival. "Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi got to the area, during the inspections, two gelatine sticks were located near the footpath, approximately 3 kilometers from the main location where PM Modi was supposed to arrive. A further investigation is now in progress," said the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) for the Central Range in Bengaluru.

After the incident, the Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President and MLA BY Vijayendra expressed strong disapproval on May 10 regarding the finding of gelatine sticks along the Prime Minister's planned route, labeling it a major security failure and an "unforgivable and serious shortcoming" of the Congress administration in the state. "Law and order, as well as security, have completely broken down in the state under Congress rule, especially in the capital, Bengaluru," he stated in a post on X on May 10. He also mentioned, "There should be no chance of even the smallest mistake concerning the security of our esteemed Prime Minister, who deserves the highest level of safety. The state government must treat this sensitive and serious issue with the greatest importance, carry out an immediate and thorough investigation, and ensure that not only are those responsible caught and punished, but also hold accountable the officials who were negligent. " The police are conducting an extensive inquiry into this matter.
