Quick business company Blinkit on Thursday said it will launch a 10-minute Basic Life Support (BLS) rescue service in India. The service is initially available with five active ambulances in Gurugram city. They will be equipped with vital life support equipment such as oxygen cylinders and automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Each BLS ambulance has a paramedic, an assistant and a driver trained to provide the fastest possible medical care. Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, announced the launch of the BLS rescue service in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Officials said Fast Trade's aim is to address the problem of fast and reliable emergency services in Indian cities. Although currently only available in Gurugram, Blinkit plans to expand the service to other cities and users will soon have the option to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance through the Blinkit app. According to the CEO, this company is currently in the development phase and plans to expand to all major cities in the next two years.

Each ambulance is equipped with oxygen tanks, AEDs, stretchers, monitors, suction equipment, and essential emergency medications and syringes. To ensure critical medical care, BLS ambulances are staffed with trained paramedics, assistants and drivers. However, the company emphasizes that it does not set any financial targets for its emergency services. Blinkit's goal is to solve this important problem in the long term and at an affordable cost for customers. This is based on some of the fast services the company has offered in recent months. In 2024, 10-minute delivery of products such as iPhone 16, Samsung Galaxy S24, PlayStation 5, and gold and silver coins was introduced. The expansion of its services to other areas such as Hisar, Jammu, Lonavala and Raipur also made headlines. While shopping on Blinkit, customers can also choose to pay in installments with the recently added EMI option.
