Three international flights, two operated by IndiGo and one by Air India, were threatened with fake security concerns, leading to disruptions in outbound international flights as safety checks were carried out. The two IndiGo flights had a total of 258 passengers. One flight has already departed, and the other will continue its journey later in the day. According to the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), three planes received bomb threats. The BCAS stated that one IndiGo plane has been cleared for takeoff, and the other two planes will be permitted to fly soon. The first incident involved an Air India flight, AI119, scheduled to fly from Mumbai to New York's JFK Airport. Due to a security alert, the flight was urgently diverted to Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, where passengers and crew were evacuated safely, and the aircraft was taken to an isolated runway for a thorough inspection by a bomb squad and other security agencies.
The Delhi airport terminal received a security threat, and Air India is investigating the issue and coordinating with authorities to determine the appropriate response. Meanwhile, two IndiGo flights from Mumbai, one bound for Muscat and the other for Jeddah, also faced security threats. The airlines followed standard procedures, moving the aircraft to isolated bays and conducting mandatory security checks. The Muscat-bound flight has already departed, and the safety of passengers and crew remains the top priority for the airlines.
