India will emerge as the Third Largest Economy: Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his confidence that India will swiftly become the world's third largest economy during the third term of his government. The upcoming general elections are scheduled for April-May this year. Speaking at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, the prime minister also revealed plans for the construction of 1,000 modern rest houses along national highways for truck and taxi drivers in Phase-1.

Modi stated, "Our government's third term will undoubtedly witness India's ascent to the position of the world's third largest economy."

Additionally, Modi highlighted the significant increase in vehicle sales since 2014, with over 21 crore vehicles sold compared to approximately 12 crore in the ten years prior. He noted the remarkable growth in electric vehicle sales as well, with a rise from 2,000 to 12 lakh in the last decade. Furthermore, he emphasized the impressive progress India has made in infrastructure development, remarking on the construction of notable engineering marvels such as the Atal Tunnel and Atal Setu, which have set new records in terms of speed and efficiency.

According to him, a total of 75 fresh airports have been constructed, while approximately 400,000 rural roads have been built. Additionally, he encouraged the industry to engage in research and development endeavors to produce batteries using raw materials that are easily accessible within the country.
