Another boost to the country's natural resource wealth. Geological Survey of India (GSI) has discovered lithium reserves in Nagaur, Rajasthan after three months of lithium reserve found in Jammu and Kashmir. This is another boost for the Indian Zero emissions. Rajasthan’s lithium reserve is much bigger than Jammu and Kashmir's (5.9 million tonnes) reserve. Lithium is often called the ‘white gold’ and the metal priority started after the usage of electric vehicles.

Lithium is lightest and the softest metal in the world. Lithium is soft enough to cut with a knife like a vegetable and it can also float in water when they are dropped as they are lighter.

With the major push of EV vehicles, lithium has become the most sought-after material. Lithium is used in mobile-laptop, electric vehicles and other chargeable batteries. Currently, India is mostly dependent on imports. This reserve can produce up to 80% of Indian market demand and will reduce dependency of India on China market for Lithium.

Rajasthan fortune is going to change now. The monopoly of China also will end and India can become completely dependent. The reserve is located in Renvat hill of Degana, where under British rule in 1914, there was a supply of Tungsten minerals from the same place.
