Jaishankar, the Indian Minister of External Affairs urged Pakistan to attempt to stay as a good neighbor for India. He slammed the nation for the funding and propogation of terrorism from Islamabad. A Pakistan reporter questioned Jaishankar at the United Nations press conference about terrorism. Before this, Hina Rabbani Khar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan made some strong statements that India is employing terrorists to destabilize Pakistan. Jaishankar said that Hina Rabbani Khar worked as the Foreign Minister of Pakistan a decade ago when Hillary Clinton visited Pakistan. Jaishankar said that it is impossible to have a snake in your backyard and expect it to attack the neighbour.

"It will bite the people present there" told Jaishankar. "How long the South Asia is going to see this terrorism disseminating from New Delhi, Kabul and, you know, Pakistan?" questioned the Pakistan journalist for which Jaishankar had a fitting reply. He said "You are asking the wrong minister when you say 'how long will we do this'. They're ministers in Pakistan who can tell how long Pakistan intends to practice terrorism. World isn't stupid, it increasingly calls out countries, orgs indulging in terrorism...my advice is to clean up your act & try to be good neighbour" told Jaishankar. He clearly asked the Pakistan reporter to ask his ministers about how to curb terrorism.
