Heat Wave Warning for Five Indian States

The summer is all over India and several states of the country have been reporting soaring temperatures. The Weather Department announced a heat wave warning for five states of the country calling it the hottest summer ever. Most of the Indian states have been reporting temperatures around 45 degrees. The India Meteorological Department said that there would be a heat wave for at least five days and the temperatures would rise by 2 degrees. The heat wave warning has been announced for Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Odisha. The temperatures are expected to be severe till the first week of May.

The mercury has been maintaining an upward trend in the Central Indiia with temperatures in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh at 45 degrees. Delhi witnessed close to 43 degrees in the morning. There would be a huge demand for power in these states. States like Maharashtra have reported a shortage of 20,000 lakh metric tonnes as most of the thermal plants are running out of coal. Rajasthan government announced power cuts for four hours for factories on a daily basis. States like Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat announced power cuts calling for an industrial holiday. The temperatures in Jammu and Kashmir too are soaring and the state reported 40 degrees. The Northwest region of India reported the hottest Marrch from the past 122 years.
