Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan failed to prove his majority in the National Assembly on Wednesday after Muttahidda Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) walked out of the alliance with the government. The party joined the opposition after which Imran Khan's chair is at a threat. The no-trust vote will take place today and Imran Khan skipped the national address yesterday which was scheduled and announced. Imran Khan's meeting with the Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and ISI Head Nadeem Anjum took place yesterday. The Prime Minister will fight till the last ball told his party. MQM-P's decision left Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf falling short of a majority in the lower house of the Parliament.

Imran Khan needs 172 lawmakers while his party has 164 for now. The opposition party now has 177. In the history of Pakistan, no Prime Minister has completed his or her term of fourth year till date. Shehbaz Sharif, leader of the opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President asked Imran Khan to resign and start a new chapter in the country. Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Imran is left with no options and he has no other chance except to resign. He may get dismissed through a no-confidence vote told Bilawal Bhutto.
