20,799 New Coronavirus Cases Reported in India

A total number of 20,799 new cases of coronavirus are reported in India in the last 24 hours and the new cases witnessed a 9 percent drop compared to yesterday. As per the reports from the Union Health Ministry, 180 deaths are reported taking the total death tally in the country to 4,48,997. The total number of cases reported in India till date are said to be 3,38,34,702. The active cases comprise of 0.78 percent of the total infections reported in the country. The active cases comprise of 2,64,458 in the country for now. The total number of recoveries climbed to 3,31,21,247. The total number of vaccine doses administered in India are 90,79,32,861 and it crossed the 90 crore mark by yesterday as per the reports that are released by the Union Health Ministry.

The national recovery rate is said to be 97.89 percent which is the highest since March this year. A total number of 26,718 people recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate is at 2.10 percent and the weekly positivity rate is at 1.63 percent. The United States of America continues to be the most impacted nation of the world with 7 lakh deaths reported. All the British citizens who are arriving in India from today will have a 10-day mandatory quarantine and the vaccine status has nothing to do with the quarantine. The Indian government took the move after the British government's similar move. Dr Randeep Guleria, Director of All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi said that the children aged between 12 and 18 years will be vaccinated soon.

As per the updates from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total samples that are tested in India yesterday are 9,91,676 and the samples tested till October 3rd in India are 57,42,52,400.
