Coronavirus daily tally inching towards 4 lakh mark

The coronavirus spread is unstoppable and the new cases reported are close to 4 lakh mark in a single day in the country. A total number of 3,86,452 new cases are reported in India in the last 24 hours taking the total case tally of the country to 1,87,62,976. The total number of recoveries in India are said to be 1,53,84,418 in India and the death toll stands at 2,08,330 and the total number of active cases reported in India are 31,70,228. The total number of Indians who have taken the vaccination for coronavirus are said to be 15,22,45,179. 3498 people passed away in the country in the last 24 hours and this is the highest death toll after the coronavirus pandemic attacked the country last year.

In a sensational move, the Supreme Court asked the Centre and states not to take any action against those who are posting about the shortage of oxygen or the beds in the country. The Supreme Court also asked if the Centre has any plans to impose any lockdown in the country to curb the new cases of coronavirus. The Indian government extended the suspension of the scheduled international flights till May 31st. All the flights that are currently operating under the travel bubbles will continue to operate. With the sudden rise in the number of cases, there is huge scarcity for the beds and oxygen in the country. The state governments announced that they are yet to receive the dose of vaccinations and the new phase of vaccination will be delayed further. As per the records from the Indian Council of Medical Research, the total number of samples tested in India in the last 24 hours are 19,20,107 and the samples tested in total are 28,63,92,086.
