After a long gap of two years, the officials of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are all set to meet together to discuss about the pending issues that are left unsolved during the state's bifurcation. The Centre convened that the meeting will take place on April 6th and all the related disputes, pending issues will be discussed. All the discussions will take place as per the AP Reorganization Act, 2014. The Chief Secretaries of both the states along with the officials will meet through a video conference on April 6th. The initial plan was to meet on March 31st but the Telangana officials wanted to postpone it.

The union ministry of home affairs (MHA) conducted the meeting in August 2019 and it is happening now. There are several pending issues like the distribution of assets, liabilities and others. It has been seven years since Andhra Pradesh got bifurcated. Sources from both the states said that the Union Ministry of Home Affairs turned out to be a spectator instead of resolving the issues between AP and Telangana. The announced timeframe was ten years and it is almost near to seven years now. Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar met Telangana Chief Minister KCR and discussed about the moves in the meeting. Several reports are being prepared by the officials and they would be presented in the meeting.
