With the number of coronavirus cases rising across the country, there are tense situations across the country. The debates are going on about that the nation would head for one more lockdown and several states started imposing restrictions to prevent the further spread of coronavirus. The Central government last evening announced that all the persons above the age of 45 can take up coronavirus vaccine from April 1st and there would be no restrictions. Everyone above the age of 45 can take up the vaccine irrespective of the health comorbidities. This would be the third phase of the coronavirus vaccination drive in the country that starts from April 1st.
Till yesterday, 4.85 crore people have taken the vaccination for coronavirus in the country. Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar announced the news. He urged the people to get registered for the vaccination soon. A letter to all the Chief Secretaries has been issued. Fresh guidelines are issued by the Union Home Ministry asking the states to increase the RT-PCR tests by 70 percent all over. The Centre also asked the states to impose the restrictions on their own but there should be no call taken on the inter-state and the intra-state movements. All the people aged above 45 years can register on Co-Win portal and book their slot for vaccination which is available in all the government hospitals and selected private hospitals of the country.
