Indian-origin employee announces her candidacy for Secretary General

An Indian-origin based employee at the United Nations announced her candidacy for the next Secretary General which happens to be the first person to throw her hat in the rings against Antonio Gutters. Antonio sought a second five-year term from January 2022 as the Chief of the United Nations. Indian-origin Arora Akanksha, aged 35 is working as an audit coordinator in the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and she said that she will run for the post. Arora Akanksha also launched a campaign #AroraForSG in this month.

She said that the people in her position are not supposed to stand up to the charge. "We have to wait for our turn, go to work and keep our heads down. We have to accept the world as it is" told Arora Akanksha in a video posted online and the video lasted for half a minute. Arora Akanksha was spotted walking inside the UN headquarters and the voiceover said that the people failed to hold the United Nations accountable. She also said that UN could not deliver the promises made to the world from the past 75 years. She said that the refugees are never protected and the technology is on a back-burner.
