Jamnagar in Gujarat will soon feature the world’s largest zoos. The announcement made by the Green Zoological Rescue and Rehabilitation Kingdom by Reliance Industries limited (RIL) declared this piece of information in a virtual conference last Friday.

MK Das, Additional Chief secretary to the chief minister was the one who gave the statement. The zoo will be spread over 250acres of land.

Gujarat is already home to the worlds tallest statue (The statue of Unity at Kevadia). Now they are aiming to create the world’s largest zoo which will be a home to an abundant number of species and animals at one place.

The zoo will be situated in Jamnagar.

According to the plan shared by the Central Zoo Authority (CZA), the zoo will have conservation and breeding regions, water bodies, a rescue and rehabilitation center and an interpretation centre. The zoo will also consist of areas for enclosures for wild, exotic and endangered animals from Gujarat. Another added special feature to the zoo will be rodents, dragons and lizards from across the country.

Gujarat is responsible for 53 percent of India’s total lion population.

The zoo will feature exotic animals such as Zebras, tigers, Jaguars, Ostriches, Kangaroos, Giraffes, the rare white rhino, Chimpanzees, the African lion, Cheetahs, African elephants, Komodo dragons and gorillas, to name a few.
