Sushant Singh Rajput’s death investigation is taking new twists and turns and in the new drug-link probe came the topic of CBD.

As a part of investigations around possibilities of the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, some conversations around CBD oil have emerged on social media. But, what is CBD oil?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an extract of the plant cannabis also called marijuana. It is the second most prevalent active ingredient of the cannabis plant. Medical marijuana has made a lot of attention in the recent years and several studies are ongoing to understand its medicinal use.

The MS society in the UK has approved medical marijuana for use for treating patients with multiple sclerosis. The MS society is asking that cannabis be made legal for those patients whose pain cannot be treated by already available medication.

Epilepsy

Studies indicate that CBD has anti inflammatory properties. Though various studies indicate that they are unclear about how CBD controls seizures they have given hope to thousands of parents of children suffering from epilepsy.

Some studies have also indicated that medical marijuana can help alleviating period pain.
