Former Miss India Finalist to UPSC Rank 93: Journey of Aishwarya Sheoran

Aishwarya Sheoran, a fashion model has defied the stereo types and topped India’s most prestigious exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

The results of Civil Services examination 2019 were declared on August 4 and several inspiring success stories have come to fore of which Aishwarya’s story is unique and inspiring. Aishwarya Sheoran is the former Miss India finalist and has also scored 93rd rank in the UPSC exam 2019.

Aishwarya Sheoran was named by this name by her mother because she wanted her to become Miss India one day.

Aishwarya said that she was eventually chosen in 21 finalists for Miss India to the reporters who talked to her after her name appeared in the results list.

Aishwarya has been a model at the Bombay Times fashion week and has walked for designers like the Bollywood’s famous Manish Malhotra.

However, Aishwarya was always drawn towards academics. She was the topper of her school. She is basically a science student who later got admission into Shri Ram College of Commerce.

While speaking to Times of India, Aishwarya said that she thought she was always good at academics and so she wanted to take a break for two years and try preparing for the civil services examination because getting into it was always her dream.

She bid adieu to social media, switched off her mobile to completely focus on the examination and the result is right in front of your eyes.

She was a science student and a head girl at her school. She later got into commerce during her under graduation. Her father Ajay kumar is a colonel and he commanding officer of NCC Telangana Batalion in Karim nagar district.

Aishwarys also said that she always wanted to get into the civil services to widen the diversity of the family and ultimately to serve the nation.

When asked why she did not prefer army job, she told the media that there are opportunities to women to grow in the army field but they are still very limited. When it comes to civil services, she said that the opportunities for women are numerous and there is no limit to what a woman can achieve.

Civil Services is a nationwide examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year to get entry into prestigious jobs in the country like Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Forest Service (IFS), Income Tax officers, jobs in higher posts at Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and also in the fields of narcotics and many other prominent sectors of the country.
