More than 77,000 COVID positive cases have been recorded in Florida in the last 7 days.

According to department of health, due to a sudden spike in coronavirus cases in Florida, the state has been witnessing shortage in the number if ICU beds for critical patients.

It is reported that though the positive cases are seeing a huge spike, Trump administration appeared powerless to curb it.

In Oklahoma, a resident Flak who was caught by a republican dining at a restaurant amid rise in coronavirus cases announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.

The country reported 67,000 cases on Tuesday which is the second highest daily spike in number of positive coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic. Nevada, Oklahoma and Alaska have also recorded their highest cases on Tuesday.

The death toll as on Wednesday morning in the country was recorded to be 137,403, according to the latest tally by NBC.

Four states in the US which include Florida, Texas, California and Alaska continued to record the highest number of COVID-19 positive cases.

More than 77,000 cases were logged in during the last one week in Florida bringing the total count of the positive coronavirus to 310,629.

Tuesday was the second deadliest day for the pandemic in Florida with 133 deaths recorded in a single day.

Finding a critical care bed for the sick has become increasingly difficult and the Agency for health Administration had reported that 54 hospitals in Florida have zero beds in intensive care units and 40 other hospitals have less than 10% beds in ICU units.

Florida’s top coronavirus hotspot Miami had no ICU beds in 10 of the most reputed hospitals. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was criticized for his poor handling of the crisis and he out of fury said that the coronavirus case numbers being reported are just a blip.
