Indian Government has warned China of severe consequences if it failed to implement the understanding and disengage in the LAC face-off.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), on Thursday, in a lengthy statement while expressing its indignation indicated that the ground situation cannot continue forever and there must be a stop to it.
It warned the Chinese Government that this squabble between the two countries will only vitiate the bilateral relationship. An excerpt from the statement read,”We expect the Chinese side to sincerely follow up on the understanding and ensure expeditious restoration of peace in the border areas”.
Since early May, the Chinese government has been deploying its troops along border areas that disrupt the agreement between them.
The border areas include Galwan valley, Pangong Tso and Depsang. India has asserted to China once again that peace and tranquility are the basis of their bilateral relationship.
The Indian government has been observing Chinese troop-s obstructing the traditional patrolling pattern in Gulwan valley and this let to the casualties of 20 Indian army personnel as a result of the face-off between the two troops.
The MEA also mentioned that China was supposed to follow the agreements reached on June 6 but instead they have erected structures across LAC.
It has also put on record that Chinese behavior on along the LAC is only becoming aggressive. It added, “large body of troops and changes in the behavior has also been aggravated by untenable claims”.
As per a report on Friday, adding to the violent face-off, custom officials of India have decided to abruptly hold all consignments coming from China at all major airports and ports. This evidently has raised concerns among the US manufacturers in India.
As a tit-for-tat move, China had halted Indian exports as India has delayed its clearances.
Pallam Raju, former MoS of Defence and Congress exclaimed that the condition has become alarming. As per recent reports, China has transgressed 18kms into Depsang plains, if this continues; it will be a real threat to India.
