India Tops Fourth Place To Become Worst Hit Country By Coronavirus- Overtakes UK

India is the fourth most affected country by coronavirus in the world. The US stands in first place crossing more than 20 lakh cases. Brazil is hit by 7.72 lakhs coronavirus infections and Russia is reported with 4.93. India overtook the UK on Thursday, increasing the count of cases to 2,95,772.
India is seeing the rise of virus infection since May 24 and entered into the list of top worst hit countries. The country already crossed Spain and Italy behind which were known to be most affected as the first most affected since the pandemic started.
PM Modi declared a coronavirus lockdown on March 25 and later it was extended in phases till May 31st. India was the only country to be locked down for almost three months. The first lockdown declaration was on March 25 which prolonged in phases till May 31st. During the very first lockdown, India reported with 500 coronavirus cases and the death toll was 10.
From the last 2 weeks, India has recorded an increase in cases. It is logged in with more than 9,000 cases which was the highest ever in the country. The single day death toll is from 350-8500 and above. The most affected state in India is Maharashtra with 97,648 cases which is next followed by Tamil Nadu and Delhi.
The current lockdown is of 5th phase which will end on June 30th. As the restrictions are eased in India, more people are susceptible to be coronavirus positive. Though all the malls, offices and religious places are open to engage with strict guidelines of social distancing, it may become vulnerable for viruses to spread.
The first coronavirus case was detected in Kerala on January 30th and the patient is a student who was studying in Wuhan university. It became an outbreak in March as the cases were increasing which led to strict nationwide lockdown.
