India and China both side militaries meet today to have a general level talks. The official meet is post the discussion by Foreign Ministers of both the nations as tensions at Himalayan border were stirring up.
The meeting was at delegation level today to resolve the long dispute over the Line Of Actual Control. The two nations came together with mutual understanding after a discussion on Friday involving Foreign Ministers.
During the Friday meeting, India and China agreed to follow the guidance provided by their leadership- “they should handle their differences through peaceful discussion bearing in mind the importance of representing each other’s sensitivities, concerns and aspirations and not allow them to become disputes.”
The Indian delegation included the officials Lt Gen Harinder Singh, the commander of 14 corps. It also includes other 10 officers who took part in the earlier meetings with Chinese counterparts.
From China, Major Gen Lin Liu along with 10 commanders, South Xinjiang Military Division and 10 other officers who were part of previous discussion with India from the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
The meeting was led as there was high tension at the border between Indian and Chinese troops in the Sikkim and Ladakh sectors a month ago. Army officers made an attempt of resolving the disputes earlier as well but unable to clear it.
The statements from the meeting were issued after the Friday’s talks in New Delhi and Beijing. According to the Indian statement, it is further to respect each other's sensitivities and concerns. Chinese statement in Beijing readout that the both the sides should not pose to threat to each other and should enhance “strategic mutual trust”
