Ukraine Passenger Plane Crashes in Tehran shortly After Takeoff

A Ukrainian airplane crashed on Wednesday near the airport in Tehran. It is said that the airplane Boeing 737 was carrying 170-180 passengers and crew and has crashed shortly after the takeoff from Imam Khomeini Airport, as reported by ISNA Iran’s semi-official news agency.

According to the report, the airplane has taken off from Imam Khomeini International airport and has crashed shortly after the take off. The crash is suspected to be caused by mechanical issues says the report.

The Ukrainian 737-800 flown by Ukraine International Airlines took off Wednesday morning, the sending of data has been stopped in a short time after the takeoff, according to the flight data from the airport in the website FlightRadar24 has shown. The request for comment has not been responded immediately by the airplane.


Most passengers on board the Ukraine International Airlines flight died, said the head of Iran’s Emergency Medical Services Pirhossein Koulivand. He added saying the crash site is not being assist though the emergency crews have been dispatched to the crash site as the area is currently ablaze.
