India’s Efforts In Engaging With Indo-Pacific Countries

India to work on strengthening its relationship with the Indo-Pacific region. Jaishankar, the Foreign Minister who went to attend the G-20 meeting with the ministers in Nagoya and Japan had a noteworthy meeting and brought with him significant points to look at.

Highlights

1. Off late India and Australia have been meeting quite often. Jaishankar met Marise Payne.

2. He met the French minister attached to the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs.

3. He communicated with the Foreign Minister of Spain on the future of our ties with the EU.

4. On November 30th, for the 2+2 meetings at New Delhi, Jaishankar and Rajnath Singh to meet Japanese counterparts with regards to the Acquisition and Cross Servicing Agreement enabling both the countries to access naval facilities.

5. In December, for the 2+2 meetings, the foreign defense secretaries of India and Australia will meet.

6. For the next round of 2+2 dialogue, On 18th December, Jaishankar and Rajnath Singh will have a meeting with Mike Pompeo and Mark Esper from the US.

7. In January, Scott Morrison, Australian PM will come to India to address the Raisina Dialogue.

8. Based on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, India is venturing out for new areas of work with Australia.
