Canadian PM Justin Trudeau joins LGBT pride march!

In a historical move, the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau joins LGBT pride march in Toronto. He has became the first Canadian prime minister to march in a gay pride parade.

Trudeau said at the beginning of the 36th annual pride parade, that, “We have to speak up anytime there is intolerance or discrimination,”

The parade paid homage to those 49 people who lost their lives last month in a gay club in Orlando and stood in silence to remember them.
Trudeau while remembering the tragedy said, “We can’t let hate go by.”

Aydian Dowling, this year’s parade international grand marshal expressed his happiness and said, “The good part of it is that so many people came together.”

The celebration was joined by Canadian CM along with other prominent politicians, including Toronto Mayor John Tory, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, Green Party leader Rona Ambrose and Elizabeth May and interim leader of the Federal Conservatives.

“We owe a tremendous amount to everyone who has been fighting to get to the day we are today but we have a lot more work to do,” said Trudeau.

“Canada is united in its defence of rights and in standing up for LGBTQ rights; this is what we are truly celebrating today,” Trudeau said after raising the rainbow flag on Parliament Hill on June 1 to kick off Pride Month
