Three Indians and three Indian-origin achievers were named as Fellows by American Society for Metals (ASM) out of 29 people for their contributions in the field of engineering and materials science. Pradeep Goyal, Gankidi Madhusudhan Reddy and Vivekanand Kain are the Indian Fellows, while Suveen Mathaudhu, Pranesh Aswath and Muthukumarasamy Sadayappan are Indian-origin achievers.
The fellowship is in recognition to ASM members for contributions to materials science and engineering. Created in 1969, fellowship intends to develop a broad-based forum of technical and professional leaders who serve as advisers to the society.
According to the statement, fellows will provide the solicited guidance to enhance ASM’s capability as a technical community of materials science and engineering in coming years. The awards would be presented to the fellows in October during the Materials Science and Technology 2015 event in Columbus, Ohio.
