Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday accepted an appeal from Ram Jethmalani, who was referred to as 'Pitamah' by SC, to adjourn the hearing of the black money case to July 30.

The Supreme Court got to see the glimpses of 'Pitamah' and 'Abhimanyu' on Thursday as 'Pitamah' effortlessly walked with what he wanted, while 'Abhimanyu' failed after a brave fight, reported The Times Of India.

The SC followed the norm that the mentioning of case would not be made before a constitution bench. However, this norm had exceptions earlier. In special cases, seasoned senior advocates got relief.

When designated senior advocate Sanjay Hegde tried his luck before a constitution bench headed by Chief Justice H L Dattu, he was asked not to create a new precedent. Hegde’s pleadings did not influence CJI.

As the conversation is still underway, the 92-year-old lawyer and politician Ram Jethmalani stood after which the CJI questioned him if he wanted to be excused for his absence. With his typical disarming smile, Jethmalani made two requests. They include adjournment of the black money case hearing and accommodation on July 30 when he was scheduled to argue the Rajiv assassination case, reported The Times Of India.

The CJI, which refused Hegde's request little before, said "we will accommodate the Pitamah". Hegde promptly requested CJI to treat him as ‘Abhimanyu' and consider the mentioning of his matter. Thus, ‘Abhimanyu’ was out of luck even today.
