It seems that Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is not in a hurry to resign her post as she pooled the support of her party. Even after the whole nation comes to know about her role in Lalit Modi’s row, the saffron batch turned out the rumors of Raje’s resignation on Thursday. The cadre condemned the rumors of controversies clouded around her.

Before that the under-fire Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Thursday met at least 20 Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including the functionaries, legislators, and cabinet colleagues to guard her from the political calamity.

"It seems the meeting with MLAs and others is a pressure tactic. She wants to tell the BJP leaders that she enjoys the support of the BJP state unit," a BJP leader told media on the condition of anonymity.

BJP leaders admit that Vasundhara Raje was passing through one of the toughest phases of her political career. The BJP national leadership is apparently divided over Vasundhara Raje since the Congress alleged that she signed a witness statement in support of Lalit Modi's immigration application to Britain.

But Rajasthan Health Minister Rajendra Rathore, a known backer of the chief minister, ruled out her resignation. "The BJP is fully behind the chief minister. There is no question of her resigning," he said in Jaipur. What has seriously embarrassed the BJP is a Vasundhara Raje's reported statement that she did not want her support to Lalit Modi to be made known to Indian authorities.

Now, with the latest changes, Most of the party is behind Vasundhara Raje. This is Vasundhara Raje’s second term as the Rajasthan chief minister. She became the first woman Chief Minister of the state in 2003.

On the other hand, Indian National Congress has taken an attack against Vasundhara Raje. The CPI-M and the Aam Aadmi Party have also demanded her immediate resignation over the Lalit Modi affair.
