Some foreign nationals have been cheating Indian people with proxy prize money and gifts by sending e-mails and messages, the people (trapped*) will respond to the messages and pays the processing fees for receiving huge or bulk amount, which is practically not possible. There are some specialists, who are mainly targeting unmarried, young woman from IT, MNCs, rich, high remuneration and other allied areas, exclusively cheating with the name of love.
The second kind of incident has taken place in Hyderabad, months ago, where a 27-year-old school teacher was cheated by a foreign national pretending as a geologist. They both had regular conversations online, fell in love, and at last he betrayed her by offering huge gifts (jewellary) worth of millions. The woman was informed that he would send a gift pack through courier and she had to pay some fees for receiving the worthy gift.
The man, who promised her to marry her, had not contacted her then. The woman had received a call from a person, claiming as from the Customs department in Delhi. She was said that a gift pack containing gold, jewellery, valuable items and foreign currency, to clear the pack she has to pay the processing fees. She later paid 18 lakh rupees, but she never received the pack. After realizing that it was a scam, she approached the Cybercrime police in Hyderabad, as per the statements of Cyber crime ACP S. Jayaram.
According to the psychology analysts, the scamsters are always targeting immature persons living in dreams for riskless money and benefits. The special case has to an alert call for the girls and women befriending with unknown persons claiming as rich, professional, NRI and of other attractive expertise. The cyber crimes should be curtailed by implementing stringent laws.
