According to reports, President Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) Sharad Pawar is willing to contest in the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) elections.

The BCCI elections were postponed twice due to IPL spot-fixing and the hearing was in the Supreme Court. However, Supreme Court on 22 January has ordered within next six weeks elections should happen.

The SC had also stated that sidelined BCCI president N Srinivasan could not contest elections as long as he was involved in a "conflict of interest" situation as an owner of IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Previously Pawar was the president of the International Cricket Council (ICC) from 2010 to 2012.

This time the turn is for the East side and to win in this Pawar has to gain more no of votes to win and to BCCI.
