Congress leader Digvijay Singh questioned role of RSS involvement in Sikh riots as a government-appointed panel advised appointing Special Investigation (SIT) to probe the 1984 riots in Delhi.

"One aspect of the anti-Sikh riots on which the media and others have been very silent is the role of the RSS activists in the Sikh riots," Congress leader Digvijay Singh said during a function.

The committee, headed by former Supreme Court Judge Justice (read) G P Mathur, was set up on December 23 last year to look into the possibility of re-investigation of the 1984 riots.

3,325 people were killed in the riots. Of them, Delhi accounted for 2,733. Rests were killed in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and other states.
