In report released by The Association for Democratic Reform it found that 19 Delhi Assembly segments are “red-alert constituencies” as three or more candidates have pending criminal charges, according to its report which was out on Friday.
Tughlakabad in South Delhi tops the list of red-alert constituencies, five candidates with criminal charges against them.
Prof. Jagdeep Chhokar said: member of the Founder ADR said, “This goes to show what option the voters have if there are five candidates with cases in one constituency.”
Out of 673 candidates, 114 have cases against them, with 74 being serious charges. The Congress candidate Bansi lal contesting against BJP leader Kiran Bedi from Krishna Nagar is the only candidate facing murder charge.
The BJP has filled its candidates with serious charges at 25 percent, AAP with 20 percent and the Congress with 15 percent.
The February 7, is the day on which Delhi people going to cast their vote for the candidates with serious criminal charges against them.
